The Benefits From Consuming Dried Figs

I’ve been a massive fan of Baby Figs for most of my life The seeds are actually agood source of fibre. The pulp of the fruit is also an extraordinary kind of soluble fibre. All in all figs are great if you have trots.

Because figs come from a tropical climate aflatoxins can be a problem also salmonella can be a possible issue when the figs are coming from a 3rd world or developing country. The best quality figs come from Turkey including the legendary Lerida Fig.

Figs are extremely high in Tryptophan ( 5HTP ) which is believed to help with getting a good night’s sleep. This makes dried figs especially well liked by folk trying to fight sleeplessness. Baby Figs are also great at helping to chill the body and spirit after a busy day at work and theyare even reputed to help in the bed!

I really like to buy my figs mainly online because theyare so heavy and you can get some great costs. However , often I buy them from my local whole food shop, but infrequently the quality can be poor. Bad quality baby figs can be awfully dry and sweet. The sugar appearance is from the fructose and itis very natural. If you need to freshen up the dried figs that have crystallised it is simple - just wash them!

I must admit that I would be lost without figs. They are so nutritious and good for you. Fresh figs naturally are better but dried figs are still packed with nutrient elements.

I’ve been a runner for years and I’ve been experimenting with using wholefoods in my diet. Iactually think that dried fruit is one of the best forms of energy for athletes. The dried figs are a great slow release energy foods.

Figs are one of the few fruit that are able to fruit all year around, so theyare great at supporting wild life. The fig tree is a good way of locking carbon into the soil. So if you eat baby figs you arenot only saving yourself but you are saving the planet!
